  I liked to watch the American soap opera very much last year. Actually I addicted to watching it. My first American soap opera is “Prison Break”. I always wanted to be good at English. At first the soap opera “Prison Break” was my way to study English. I planned to blind the caption and tried to listen to words of that soap opera. But It wasn’t easy for me to watch that soap opera without the caption. I couldn’t understand the meaning of their speech. So I had to turn on the caption for understanding. It was the starting point of the addiction. I always watched “Prison Break” until whole season was finished. Maybe I watched it 10 hours in a day. And I was finished it finally. But the end means another start. I started to watch another American soap opera. For example, “Heroes”, “Gossip Girl”, “90210”, “Desperate Housewives” and “The Big Bang Theory” etc. But I watched American soap operas more and more, I thought that it is not good. Because after I watched it, I feel angry or bad emotions. The reason of this feeling is the story which is totally twisted and the character’s stupid actions. For example, the girl in the “Heroes” whose name is Clare. She always does stupid things. She always makes the situation worse. Actually almost American soap opera has this problem. I couldn’t stand it anymore. So I decided to stop watching that kind of soap opera.

  The last soap opera that I am still watching is “The Big Bang Theory”. This soap opera is the story of nerds. I never feel that kind of bad emotion in this soap opera. I always feel an amusement when I watch this soap opera. The best character in this soap opera is Dr. Sheldon Cooper. He is a cute guy. He is genius but different from any other people. If anyone wants to watch the American soap opera, I recommend “The Big Bang Theory”. It makes you smile.

  I know that watching American soap operas or movies without caption makes me good at English. But it is not easy for beginners. These days, I can understand 50% of the words in that kind of American media contents. I expect that someday I can watch the movie or the soap opera without caption. Of course, with the perfect understanding.
